"I was a State Farm customer since 2016. I left about 8 months ago because I switched to progressive to save money. I’ve never had to use my insurance before, but I had my first time having to make a claim about three weeks ago. I popped a tire on the freeway with my three kids. I’d never had anything like that happen to me while driving before. I had to call in a claim for the first time, I was directed to the 800 number for progressive to be told they can’t help me I need to file a claim on line. I had been sitting on the side of the freeway at this point for 45 mins. By the time the tow truck got to me he let me know he couldn’t tow me that I was outside of my coverage by 5 miles. When I called to speak to a progressive agent I had a man who could hardly speak English had no care that I had been on the side of the freeway for almost 2 hours with my children in 78 degree weather, didn’t care that I paid for insurance and roadside assistance every month and have never had to use it. All he heard was I was out side of my covered area and that was that. Even tho I have not had to use State Farm’s insurance I know when I call them they know my name, I know I wouldn’t have argued with them over five miles and I would have been taken home with out an extra charge that was more than the tow itself. I switched back to State Farm today to pay more per month in insurance, but to know the next time I file a claim or need to talk to a real person who understands real people problems, I’ll talk to people like Leo who will ask me if my kids and I are ok and what he can do to get me home."
